IIRC all AMC slim > buckets are the same, and all the reclining low back > buckets are the same (in small cars anyway Sorry, but this is NOT the case in my experience. I have a '72 Gremlin ( one of eight Gremlins I own from '71 to '78) with '70 style Javelin bucket seats, meaning a FULL plastic back-shell, and lever seat release. Later high-back slim type buckets appear in later Gremlins, but are different than the earlier Javelin-style, they have a smaller backshell, with the release relocated. I wouldnt' call them the "same" under any circumstances, except for general design. They look similar from a distance, but are not exactly the same. Maybe the seat part is the same, with a different shell. I don't have a later Gremlin with the slim high-back buckets myself, but have seen them, and they are different than the '70 Javelin/'72 Gremlin seats I have ( I also have a '70 Javelin with high buckets, and they ARE identical to my '72 Gremlin seats ). The Gremlin buckets are an optional upgrade in the listings, from what I read and found out. I presume the Hornet could get the same items. A '73 Gremlin I was buying parts off of had a slim-back high bucket, but with a release in the top center of the seat...it was a 1-year only design, according to another Gremlin owner. I'd never seen the center back release before. But the bucket was similar to the slim-back slim shelled seats I'd seen before otherwise. So there are some variations out there. Not sure what they all are, though. I can only speak from my personal cars and parts cars and show cars I've seen. - Jerry Casper - __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail Mobile Take Yahoo!
