Re: 1974 - 232

I have an 81 manifold on the 1969 232.
Only thing I remember doing was porting the exhaust manifold to blend it better to fit the big port head. I may have to try and find soem time to take th eexhaust manifold off and stick the split 2000 manifolds up against the head to see what it looks like.
I wanted to do a true dual exhaust with crossover on my American ,but it just seemed that I would never get it done if I kept rethinking things so I stopped and left the modified HO tube exhaust manifold in place with 2 1/2" pipe to a glass pack then a super turbo, Yes, Two mufflers in a single exhaust, anything else and it was too boomy for my taste! I tried one glass pack at the tail, too loud, added a second glass pack in front of it and it still gave me headache! So I found a super turbo that fit [walker IIRC] it ended up with nice sound.
I figure the glass pack is basically just acting as a resonater to help reduce the noise a bit.
