Re: Question for Mark Price (and others) tranny mount for 5 speed

Mine is a T-5 in an American and it fit.
I used a Generic G.M. trans mount, Slotted the holes till it bolted to the T-5 then had to cut off a corner or two of the mounts steel to clear the Speedo cable area. Also had to massage some of the actual crossmemeber for clearance, but it ended up fitting nicely.
The shifter mount plate on the T-5 is however flush wiht the floor of the tunnel and so the hole had to be that large. The 82 Spirit Leather boot I got with the trans covers it fine though.
I've looked at AX15's and question how well they will fit in the American body. It looks like they will be into the tunnel top as the appear to be too tall. I do not have any idea how they will actually fit as the bellhousings are different and what the heigth of the trans from the input shaft up will determine actual clearance. If anyone has this measurement
I can measure my spare T-4 and we can get a ballpark has to how different they actually are.
