The only problem with that is it's currently illegal! No road taxes are paid on fuel used for heating. When fuel oil was used more for heating some people would use some of the lower cost hating oil in their diesel vehicles. The only problem is it arouses suspicion when the heating oil bill ogoes way up! A LOT of the cost of gas is road taxes, (supposedly) used to keep the roads in good repair.

Good point to remember -- the road tax issue is real, though few filling stations either know or care (cash talks!). I think twice in 18 years have I been refused fuel due to the tax, and I think they simply didn't like my looks...

* Big places (big tank farms, distributors) are all set up to pay the tax.

* Tiny places (mom'n'pop grocery + propane), well cash talks loudest.

Propane passenger cars are *rare* -- nearly every place I go, mine
is the only one they ahve ever seen. In a few places, they
remember me from single visits years ago (OK some places in the
U.S. not much happens... :-)

Saw a post on using LPG in cars, and there are many
advantages to it. The main dis advantage is where to
fill up. Can't you just fill up at home? There is a
company that has produced a home filling station that
basically just lowers the pressure coming out of the
home line. Couldn't you just set up a "T" and use that
to hook up your filling station.....Russ
