Jeff, hi. Does the larger diameter of the pwr strng pump assembly equate to being underdriven compared to the Eaton set-up? Does it use less hp to drive the Saginaw assembly with the larger diameter pulley?? Steve Avery Santa Maria, Ca. This thread has gone on so long that reply posts now take up a healthy chunk of the digests simply due to all the ">>>>>" forwarding hash marks and old/previous comments... In 1972, AMC switched over to the GM-designed Saginaw steering pump, to go along with the Saginaw steering gear AMC had been using for years prior. This pump is the one with the pump integrated into the "teardrop" shaped reservoir and a larger pulley, about 5"-6" depending on application. As previously noted, some of these used a bolt on pulley and some of them used a press-on pulley. Pretty much any Saginaw pump will work with any Saginaw steering gear by using the appropriate hose connections. Jeff Reeves Auburn GA
