feel is controlled by a torsion bar in the ps gear valve. the thicker
the bar, the more the feel; they range from 0.165" dia to 0.204".
most are on the small end; something like a z28 would have a 0.195".
they also showed the early zj box was a good choice; fast ratio,
medium-high feel, wide turning angle.

i learned this from a page in a gm-oriented website. it had specs for
saginaw gears from the mid '60s to mid '90s at least. unfortunately,
i can't find the url again...

OK, it's RTFM time! The time for this sub-project for me is not now, but I do want to eventually find a 2.5 turn box, and that will be the time for this research.

Thanks for the info!
