Last week was the first time this year that I was able to work 5 days in a row on my Hornet's interior project. It has been a long lousey winter. I have to paint the metal panels just below the quarter windows that are not covered by the door panels. By the end of the week the roof will be insulated with Dynamat and the freshly dye'd headliner will be back in and the painting of some small trim parts should begin. The outer quarter widow frames have surface rust so I will have to clean and paint them before I install them. I had the local Sherman Williams auto paint supplier mix me up a quart of sienna orange. I still have to touch up the orange on the door jams where the window frame had to be welded where it was cracked on both doors. I have new hinge pins and bushings to install in the doors along with new felt "U" glass channel and door fuzzies along with new door gaskets and carpet. I am really excited as it is finally going to be finished in the next 2 months as I have! driven this car for 1 1/2 years with a trashed interior. The only thing on the whole interior I will have to farm out is the seats. This interior project will set me back about 3,200$. It is not stock but a mild custom diamond tufted interior, with thin Javelin bucket seats and a factory Gauge pod under the package tray with 3 Auto Meter gauges and billet aluminum knobs on everything.
