my american headlight doors naturally have that matte look.

I'm going to try two of Eastwood's paints; Reflective Aluminum and Almost Chrome, with Diamond Clear Gloss for Painted Surfaces. Ive used the ref. al. before, it's not as shiny as I'd like; the ad copy says the new Almost you can see a reflection in. We'll see.

that motorcraft carb [5200? 6200?] may actually be a weber 32/36 or
the like, made under license.  it's up in the 300cfm +/- area,
more than a 1bbl.

I'm about 15 minutes from doing the car up in propane. I've got a tank (bought for the Gremlin years ago).

Yeah, but it's about $400. Lifetime guarentee nationalcarburetors.com BBD with no core is under $200. I can do a whole LP system, new parts, for that $400 (since I have the tank). It just runs so damn nice on the stinky gas. Once you stop going to gas stations, it's a real shock to go back to gasoline!

Gotta chop out the trunk to fit the tank, which is what stopped me
in that nice CA 304 Gremlin, but this Hornet isn't so rare. ANd
if I'm careful I can make the cut out replaceable.
