I also though that sounded like a bit much. At the very least the engine wouldn't turn over very far. At worst bent rods - broken pistons/heads. If one has the time and tools you can also use a drill to spin up the oil pump and even crank the engine over a few times while you're doing it to get oil through all the passages.
