I just bought a magazine , vintage, off of Ebay that has a 4-page article on the motor itself, it gave pretty good reviews about the general overall German design of the head flow characteristics, power band, etc. Did mention you had to row the gears to get going, also that the Porsche and Gremlin were very heavy cars for this particular motor, so could perform better than what it seemed to be doing. Lots of room for performance enhancements, they seemed to say. Magazine is called Minicars, by Petersen Action Group, circa 1978. - Jerry - --- Sandwich Maker <adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > " From: Bill Strobel <theamcguy@xxxxxxxxx> > " > " All this talk of AMC 2.5L engines has me wondering > " about the AMC 2L engine.
