Telling the diff between AMC 2.5 and Iron Duke

Wow, thanks for all the great info on the engines... I
have never seen the AMC 2.5 in an Eagle... COOL, but
probably so rare I will never see one!

FYI, these engines are extremely easy to ID. The AMC
2.5 looks just like the 258 missing two cylinders..
the water pumps and front timing cover for same year
will interchange and the distributor, intake and
exhaust are similarly placed to an AMC 6.

The GM 2.5 is configured completely differently. In
addition to it's other positive points, it does have
an HEI ignition. One reason I REALLY hate this engine
is that the HUGE HEI dist is located under the intake
and exhaust manifolds with loads of vacuum lines. The
lines tend to corrode everything is hard to get to.

I mean this COMPARITVELY... I know someone will say
how easy it the iron Duke is, however, if you compare
it with the 258 or 2.5 (where the dist is opposite the
manifolds and most lines are fairly high in the engine
bay). I just know I can't WAIT to get the six in my
Kammback!

Have a great week and thanks again for the info,

Jesse
