That's true and for a long while it has been used in lower class circle track racing. That's almost a 3 liter four cylinder! Same bore longer stroke (different pistons). Don't kid yourself those things CAN be made to run! There USED to be a good bit of speed equipment available right from GM under the "Super Duty" label. Even 4 bolt main blocks. I did one up for a local racer. He was quite successful till they found out what size the engine was (he was claiming 2.5). I wouldn't have done that,,, I always run legal,, wink,, wink.
