If you have tried to join the list lately and got a message saying you had to wait for approval you should be approved now! I haven't had a reliable internet connection for the last three weeks and was unable to fix the out a problem. If you have trouble getting on the list let me know. If you have changed e-mail addresses you have to subscribe with your new address then unsubscribe your old one. The old one will automatically fall off after so many errors, full mailbox message, or inactivity for 365 days. I do request that you unsubscribe though, as it helps keep the member list clan and up to date. One last thing. I just took membership moderation off. This means that anyone can subscribe to the list now without requiring approval. The list has been clean for about a month now. As long as it stays this way I'm going to leave membership approval off. As long as list posts stay CLEAN AND REASONABLY POLITE AND RESPECTFUL TO ALL I will leave it this way. Note that anyone with a prior history of getting out of control will have their address (and subsequent new addresses as soon as they are discovered) PERMANENTLY BANNED from the list if any warnings are not heeded IMMEDIATELY. Anyone contributing on the list to a "flame war" started by someone else will be subject to a temporary ban of up to 30 days EVEN IF THEY ARE ANSWERING WHAT THEY PERCEIVE TO BE A PERSONAL, PUBLIC ATTACK. If you are offended by a post take the problem to private e-mail with the individual OR TO ME and I will issue a PRIVATE warning if necessary. Someone recently answered a post by Andrew Hay in a way that could have been perceived as offensive to Andrew. Andrew ignored that part of the message (at least on the list) and answered in a polite manner anyway. That's how one SHOULD handle such posts! As I said, if there is a problem work it out in e-mail, don't post to each other on the list, or contact me for mediation. Otherwise ALL contributing parties will be issued warnings and face possible bans -- temporary or permanent depending on the scope of the situation. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Independent Magazine" (AIM) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!)
