>From Automobile Quarterly, Vol.16, No.2 - 2nd quarter 1978 "It was nine o'clock in the morning on a Wednesday, February 5th, 1845, a little house at No.3 Mill Pleasant Road, in the district of Stoke Damerel, county of Devon, a sleepy and pretty place in the southwest of England. There was a baby's cry, a son had been born to Thomas Hellier and Elizabeth Buckland Jeffery. It was there first boy. He was christened Thomas Buckland." It goes on to mention how he came to the US alone in 1863 at the age of 18 despite the Civil War going on at the time and covers the period up to the time Charles Jeffery sold out to Charles Nash. The article, by Beverly Rae Kimes covers 18 pages with photos.
