Badger pistons and Keith Black pistons are two different animals. The badgers are "stock replacement" parts. As such the have the same performance limitations as stock. The Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons are kind of like a step between stock and forged. I have used them with good success in race motors IF you consider their limitations. They are CAST pistons. Even though they are a high silicone & heat treated piston, they still have some of the drawbacks of a cast part. Namely RPM. I would not hesitate to use and recommend them for a high performance street engine where the RPM will be under about 66-6800 which would probably include MOST street engines. For a Pro-Street engine with a flat tappet cam and RPM of over 6800,,, go with Forged. For an engine using a hydraulic cam and an RPM limit of about 5800 the KB's are a very good choice. Be SURE to read the installation instructions concerning ring end gap! VERY important. They have a LOT of good information on their web site. But hey,,, that's just ME! Bruce Hevner
