Re: Identifying the T-5 5 Speed

A: The strongest of the T5s used (AFAIK) was in the '80 to '83 Full Sized
pickups behind the 4.2L. Advanced Adapters makes a heavier duty upgrade to
swap in it's place, but only 4x4 version (I think). I had a Tremec behind
the Turbo Nissan 280ZX I picked up long ago (I swapped it for a regular 280Z
4 speed and resold the car then sold the trans alone for $1500. I found out
afterwards they were selling the trans new from Nissan for $1,000 and picked
up a couple more and resold them, making a nice little side profit)

Andrew, According to the T-5 Tag list from BW/TREMEC the last issued T-5
going to AMC was for the following;
1352-074 AMC 1985-86 Eagle 258 L6
1352-076 AMC 1985-86 Jeep CJ 2.5 L4 & 258 L6
1352-077 AMC 1985-86 Jeep CJ 258 L6
1352-079 AMC 1985-86 Jeep CJ 2.1 L4 Diesel
1352-086 AMC 1984-85-86 Eagle 2.5 L4

Any used after this would have been leftover from 1986. As with my post I
stated this info was taken from the site listed. Take a look at the tag
list I sent you..............And if its incorrect, Its BW/TREMEC's fault.

And as for guess who set up the aisin- warner, why to you think that BW T-5s
are now TERMEC, da

The T-5s are in almost everything, GM car, vans and trucks; Nissan 280, 300,
and some 4x4s; Ford car and trucks; Isuzu/Honda, Rodeo/Passports; and yes
the AMC-Eagle-Jeep s also.........................
