RATS................ I'm not havin a good AMC day ! I've been away from the tools for too long. I forgot the first rule of thumb that should have been automatic but since I hung up my tool belt and started pushing pencils, I forgot that you don't overstress alloy parts, they just can't take it. I broke the ear off my 35 year old Motorola alternator. Yes it had been on the car unmolested since December of 1969. I had to loosen it to get the belt off and a bolt broke. I drilled a hole in the bolt and stuck the easy out in it, and as the easy out went in further to bite the bolt it broke off the ear, damn that was stupid, and my trusty old Motorola is now worthless, oh well guess I'll have to figure out how to install that 76 GM style alternator, or maybe the 79 alternator I have both. Does any one know of a website that gives step by step instruction on how to swap in the later alternators into a 1970 car? Thanks, Armand
