Great info, andrew. I have to get new tires for my 75pacer X, originally came with goodyear dr78-14 RWL tires, polysteel I think. It could also have had the dr70-14. I have been running regular whitewall 195-75-14. Want to get it back to stock. I was told the replacment tire would be a 205-70-14, though it sounds big to me. any ideas for easier cleaning/polishing the cast aluminum wheels/volcano caps- they are grimy and dungy and dull, I have tried the usual hand polishing but with 4 to do, might take into the next decade. anyway, here are some web sites I have saved for tire size info, hope it helps anyone. regards, AMC ken/boston. http://www.procomptires.com/tireconversionchart.htm http://www2b.biglobe.ne.jp/~oparts/conversion.html http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/2398/tires/TIRE.HTML ************************** On March 2, 2005 andrew hay wrote: > going by with others said, that 205/70r14 is the direct match -- > # tire 205/70r14 215/60r15 235/55r15 255/50r15 > Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference > 205/70-14 5.6in 12.6in 25.3in 79.5in 797 0.0% > 215/60-15 5.1in 12.6in 25.2in 79.0in 802 -0.6% > 235/55-15 5.1in 12.6in 25.2in 79.1in 801 -0.5% > 265/50-15 5.2in 12.7in 25.4in 79.9in 793 0.5% > > i wish i could recall where i found 'tire'; it was on the pre-web > internet -many- [15?] years ago. > ________________________________________________________________________ > Andrew Hay the genius nature > internet rambler is to see what all have seen > > adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought > > > > . ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
