Re: T-5 transmissions

I'm going to start looking again for the right trans at the right price. Now is a good time for me as I spend lots of time back sateg killing time on a computer.
I'm not sure if the tailshafts will interchange between a WC and non WC or I'd look for a WC. I went through a lot of effort to get the AMC T-5 into the car and if I change over to a Ford I will have to redo the driveshaft, mount and shifter locatioin again. That is why I want to build the hybrid. The Mustang trans has the shifter mounted further to the rear then the AMC does. I have a 82 T-4 too. I'm thinking that I could pick up a Camaro or Mustang V-8 2.95 first gear trans and get everything ready to assemble into the the AMC T-5 by pulling the front cover and input from the T-4 and making sure all is the same. I'd also be interested in picking up a Sirit or concord T-5 cors trans if anyone knows of any. Then I could do the complete build and swap the hybrid in and keep the good T-5 I have in one piece.

Thanks,
Mark Price
