(2) I'm not sure what the insistance here is of the term "LEGAL" in
describing the vendor. Is there a double standard between someone
that sells a few parts on the side and someone who apparently runs a
full-time business? Are people saying that "Legal" businesses are
inmune to critique? If this is the case, can someone tell me why?
The writer in question has had a long-standing grudge against another
gentleman in his state who operates a "hobby business", but upgraded
his image with a professional-sounding name, business cards, and the
like, apparently without bothering to follow up with registering his
name with the local and state governments. It's an open question as
to whether the hobby business operator has ever registered for sales
taxes, or whether he pays income taxes on his earnings. He's been
crabbing about it for years and can't seem to let it go.
It has occurred to me that there are two sides to Randy, the one that
we like who provides great technical advice and has extensive
knowledge of things AMC, especially related to performance, and the
one that gets on many peoples nerves who rants about how the
performance and aftermarket parts manufacturers are out to screw the
AMC customer in general and his business in particular. If we could
have the former without the latter, this list would be a better place.
