Randy mentioned the drawthrough carb'd 301 turbos. They are similar in design to the old 231 buick turbos, only larger. Fyi - the comp side has a .60 A/R housing, a T4 back plate and the wheel is an odd GM only 2.710" on the major [vs 2.75" on std T4 garretts]. Can't remember the minor, but it's a good bit bigger than the minor on an '86/'87 GN turbo's wheel. The 301 turbos are supposed to be good for 300-330 horse worth of air, according to several experts that I've asked. Beware though, the turbine housing A/R is .82. Might be a tad slow to spool on a 225". Fyi - the carb'd 231 turbos have a .42 A/R comp hsg, and a T3 size compressor wheel [another odd GM only wheel, rumored to be near a 60 trim in flow]. The '78-'81s are also a large-ish .82 turbine A/R, and the '82/'83 have a .63, like the later efi'd buick turbos. Fyi - a have chatted with a fellow that used a little 50 trim compressor /.48 A/R turbine 2.2 mopar turbo on a 225, and he said it pulled well to 5500. More fyi - there are 60 trim, .63 A/R turbine side T3s on some Nissans. They are very similar to the 60 trim efi ford turbos, except the comp hsg in hose in/out, and the exhaust outlet is different than the fords. Imo, a 500-600 carb would suit you for drawthrough. For blowthrough, imo, it would not need to be that large. Although a 4 barrel might be easier to tune for good economy, a 350 cfm 2 barrel holley might be more than enough, and the holley looks easier to mod for blow through. Gary Sypherd has info on blow through mods for the edelbrock carbs in the files here, iirc. He's using a 600 edel carb on a 413" sbc with very impressive results.
