Jamie Smith (oconner_us@xxxxxxxxx), you said...

::nod:: I recently procured a partial washer set off eBay, and one of the
items was the instructions, which mark this kit as being from 65-67 (it
mentions the American, Ambassador, Classic, and Marlin). The schematic
shows the hose going through a sponge rubber grommet to the right of the
larger grommet (as you look in the engine bay). This is definitely a
difference between the model years, as it's very different from the
schematic in the '64 parts book (which shows the nylon tube thing).

I was fortunate enough last night to get a decent photo of the foot pump
in a '64 Ambassador, which clearly shows it going through the bottom of
the large rubber grommet through the firewall. This is where I had been
intending to route the hose, and at least now I have some image showing
not only that this was how it was routed, but also showing the relative
position of the foot pedal pump in the passenger compartment. I believe
that's the last thing I was wondering about this install, which means I
can finally move foreward on it. In the coming week, though, as I did
the rear bumper install yesterday, and want to do some non-car stuff
today. :-)

Cheers,
Gwen Smith
