Re: Restoring Instument Panels

I've seen ads for people that restore (or possibly reproduce) the simple
circuit boards in the back of the old gauge clusters. Anyone know what
I'm
talking about? Did I just dream this up?

Anyway, mine is in bad shape and I would like to get another made if
possible.

Even if you have a PC board setup at home, it's gonna be far simpler, easier, faster and CHEAPER to simply get a junkyard unit and swipe the board. The boards don't generally go bad (though copper traces some times lift) so they shouldn't be rare.

You'd be hard-pressed to reproduce a single PC board for less than
$100 if you have to buy all the stuff, plus you'd have to figure
out the process, make the artwork, cut and trim the board, etc.

If you simply have a few copper traces lifting around the edges,
superglue them, or use shellac on a small brush, under and over,
strategic tape while it dries.
