Re: Anybody know Mark Werner (Princeton, WI)?

Tom, Sounds like your in the same boat I was when I bought the Ambassador from you!
I still haven't got started on it! I've got most all the parts and hope to get to it this summer, finally! If you hadn't thrown that T-5 in I'd have passed, but it alone was worth the price of admission! It works perfect, which is probably a miricle with it being a light duty 83 six cylinder T-5! I never even opened it up and looked inside!
Do cars in wisconsin rust from the bottom up? I'd be concerned mainly about the rockers and floors. Glassed quarters will hold up for years if sealed well. Ask for detailed pics of the underneath and quarters inside and out. Try to find out how long it has been since the work was done. I saw the car on Ebay and thoguht it would make an intereting project car to fix. $3500 is a bit steep though with the forementioned rust repair and the rear collision damage thrown in. You figure the guy probably got a totalled figure from insurance since he was hit.

Good luck on it.

Mark Price

>I'm looking for some references or any knowledge on Mark Werner of Princeton, WI. He has a Rambler American 2-door sedan that had been converted to a 343 & 4-speed. Apparently the car he converted had some pretty rusty quarters that he repaired with fiberglass. While the car looks good in photos, I would sure like some independent verification.

>He had the car for sale on eBay a little while ago. Whgile his reserve wasn't reached ($3,500!), I was the high bidder. So now we are dickering on price.

>But he lives in central Wisconsin and I live in central Ohio, about ten hours driving time away. I really don't want to drive that far to discover that the car is a bigger project than I'm willing to fool with.
