So I'm back from as brief personal/family/business trip to L.A., and back to pondering the engine compartment on Little Car. Thus far, many of my questions have been answered -- but a few nagging things remain. 1. Heater hoses, again. I've hard two opinions of what these hoses were originally. One is that they were Goodyear "blue streak" hoses, the other is that they were likely Gates manufactured, and had a yellow stripe on them. A beautiful set of photos from a very low-mileage '68 American shows yellow on 'em, but the info on the blue ones is also from a low-mileage '66. I realize, of course, that having "factory correct" hoses in a 1964 Classic *is* akin to tilting at windmills -- but I've never been known for doing something half-way. Plus, well, I intend to have this car for a good, long while, and would like to get it as right as I can. 2. Distributor cap, again. The consensus is black plastic, and the TSM says "Delco Remy" was the manufacturer. So now a black plastic Delco Remy distributor, from a fresh cardboard and metal package, is sitting on the old shelf. I doubt anyone knows, but were there any differences between the ones that Delco Remy provided to American Motors, and the ones they sold under their own name? I doubt it, but again, I'm being particularly anal-rententive. 3. Tower clamps, again. Word has it that these may have been date stamped. I suppose it would be too much to ask if anyone has any details on the nature of this stamping? 4. Stickers. Another painful thought came to mind. Back a few years ago, I discovered the location of the water test sticker on Little Car. Today I happened to see a nice shot of the BBG AMX that sold in the Barrett Jackson auction over the weekend. In the engine compartment of this rather meticulously-detailed car was another inspection sticker on the driver's shock tower (This can be seen at http://www.barrett-jackson.com/events/scottsdale/vehicles/cardetail_list.as p?id=179430). So, uh, were they putting any of these on '64s other than that Water Test one I spotted a while back? If so, does anyone know their general location, or have a decent photo of these things? I'd love to fabricate at some point. Yes, I may someday be the person putting daubs of paint under wheel wells or some such. I may not, too, but I'd still love to know, you know?
