" From: Jerry Casper <gremlingts@xxxxxxxxx> " " Got a friend who needs new turn signal shut-off " pawls for his '66 American convertible, and wants to " go get used ones...are there any alternatives for new " ones? When did AMC go to the GM turn signal internal " unit? Thanks , we're heading out early Sat. morning, " so any answers before then appreciated. :) as others have mentioned, the self-canceler cam parts are available off-the-shelf at parts stores that can actually tell you what fits. carquest is where i got the parts for my '66. ford econolines were another app they fit. '67 marked the gm switch, not accidentally when 4-way flashers were first required. " From: Matt Haas <mhaas@xxxxxxx> " " These parts are available from the AMC parts suppliers and are not that " expensive. I know Kennedy American sells them and I'm sure others do as well. iirc this is a ford-style switch. if so it's probably being reproed for the early mustang crowd. and the gm switch is -far- superior, not just because it's newer - in the years i drove it, my '66 cancelers broke at least three times. after eight years my '68's switch, probably the original, is still fine. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought
