Calling all AMC historians and racing experts!

I have a question regarding the #86 AMC Spirit race car pictures found on the
AMX-files. I have not received a reply from Dennis Kupferschmid.

You are not going to get a reply from Dennis as he is very ill. Dennis has 
been a good friend

of mine for a long time.LRDaum


Was the car at the Trans-Am race Trans-Am Road America, despite it not being
listed by official results? If it was, then it should be listed on the RSC
site.

NO, IMSA racing which big at that time. A whole group of us went up from 
Peoria.

I have a lot more pictures of that race some where, as I was editor of 
American Motoring

and did an article on the race for AM in 1980 I believe. LRDaum


Can anyone confirm this to include the car in this historical database.

If you thinking Trans-AM, no. This was a 6 cylinder car and racing series.

It was at the end of the series Amos Johnson and Dennis Shaw had dominated

for quite some time. Yes, Jeff Puras and the Team AMX guys have the car.

I thought I sent them some contact information for Irv Heorr , some time ago,

as he still runs a racing business out of his old shop. I was the one who 
organized

the original  shop tour in 1980 or so. thanks Larry R. Daum

PS I've also been having trouble with the list, sending me message that no 
attachments

are allowed , when there are no attachments and refusing to post me emails 
to the list.

I've answered the 70 AMX paint interior question 3 times to no avail. LRD

I've finally got my Eudora lite to work with the new Internet connection so 
I'm going to
se if this works better. I keep refused with outlook express for having 
attachment I don't
