Haven't been here in awhile-though I did stop to read the posts a few weeks ago
and saw topics:
Re: 'Transvestites Unwelcome unless Accompanied by a 'Shrink'
Re: To the non english speaking fellow
Needless to say, I didn't read them, nor anything else. What's happened here?
Awhile ago I bought a DVD and VHS tape of an old AMC film. I forgot who did
this and want to contact him. I have some films that I sent out about 3 years
ago to have done, but they came back last week and without an explanation if
they were done or not. I think the AMC people might like them
One is a driver ed film from 1967 showing a 67 red Rebel convert driving on the
AMC test track, then into traffic. A lot of AMC background cars here.
A second film shows a Wagoneer and a Hurst Jeepster off roading
The raw footage of the commercial where a sharpshooter shoots the word Javelin
into the side of a Mustang. This is about 45 minutes long as it shows about 60
seconds of each shot, from different angles. Also shows some footage of the
Javelin driving. Perhaps the commercial could be recreated again from the
footage?
A dealer traing film for the buyer protection plan. Kind of goofy, but shows
some shots of the cars.
2 non AMC movies called "Be There with Bear" on the 1948 and 1950 Indy 500. This
is an incredible documentary of the race, mainly Gasoline Alley ("Sorry ladies,
you aren't allowed in there"). Shows a ton of behind the scenes shots of the
cars being prepped, the drivers, etc. (And a rabbit ran out on the track in
one). And did you know the "official" tow truck was a Nash? Yep, shows it
picking up a wreck (just hook the roll bar and lift).
I also have some TV commercials from the late 70s and early 80s on the AMC
lineup, plus some audio recordings (from radio station) about the cars-pretty
neat to listen to-but maybe these could be played in the background with a
slideshow of the cars.
Anyway, if someone could put me in touch with the site I'd like to send them off
if he could do them-I'm sure the Indy films could more than make it worth the
while.
Lastly, I have a billboard from 1971 on the new Javelin that was never put up.
There are 10 or so panels approximately 4 foot square. If I could reproduce it,
would there be interest, and does anyone know who would reproduce something like
this? Have no idea what the cost would be.
