All AMCs used Kelsey Hayes pin type brakes from 71-76, even Hornets. Later models used Bendix (Ford used a Bendix type) sliding calipers. 82-83 used a pin type GM caliper, but different than the KH. KH uses pins to hold the pads in, the GM type slides on pins. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Independent Magazine" (AIM) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) -------------- Original message ---------------------- > Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2005 21:39:57 -0800 (PST) > From: Joe <jgray_55@xxxxxxxxx> > Subject: More on Disk swap on 72 Gremlin > To: AMClist <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, > > Are there any big AMC cars > (ambo,matador,rebel...etc)with the same type disk > brake setup as the 71-74 Jav/AMX...that will > interchange??
