I know another wise man (unless being a 70-ish Chevy collector who drives
--- along with two genuine '57 fuelies --- HIS first new car [a '55 210
Sedan] and first new convertible [a '62 Bel Air that is both completely
original and painted black; try that if you cherish challenges!] might
disqualify him in the world of AMC...) who found AM memory machines even
cooler than my '96 Impala SS [which he helped sell to his FL brother-in-law
for a pretty penny, in part, hoping life would breathe back into the
Kenoshans...]; hasn't happened, still storing, still "wasting" money and
still looking for that missing "something" in the world of collector car
AMC. Is that rude or realistic? Is there something "more" about AMC?

AMC List sorta rambles on; AMC Forum sorta lacking each time I look; AMC
book, magazine, and web reading, while ever welcome, is rarely "enough."

Are AMC people/clubs/activities real reasons to be AMC active or proud?

I'm at a loss for words again; still dunno if AMC* is "worth" anything.

Maybe what another wise man suggested. Worth shining up and building a
building above to sit around/in and look at: solely for AMC nostalgia.

Maybe that's the real way to be "into" AMC. Anti-social. Independent.

Maybe, of course, it doesn't really matter. After all, it's "only" AMC.

*And I'm not talking about the well-known AMC ego-mobiles that ARE
appreciating, ARE appreciated and ARE results of work/money/motivation by AM
"fans." They'll get gushes and glossy glances galore (or at least as glory
is defined in AMC circles); they [?!] could be Chevy-, Ford-, Mopar-,
Maserati- and Marmon-marqued just as easily. I'm talking about the rest of
non-marquee AMC where non-millionaire people make their mark by making a
marque either a rewarding ride from yesterday to tomorrow or a rude
[re-]awakening every day.

Whether speaking English, Klingon or Americanese, you make your mark on AMC.
Whether resourceful, respectful or rude, you make AMC what it may be worth.
Whether you treasure the past, live in the moment or plan far ahead, you are
AMC.

And luckily, some AMC fans are kind enough to park side-by-side:

Got press? Got patch? (Got a clue?)

Got plan to make AMC worth something?

I gotta go, but so I don't go rudely, I gotta give you free AMC info:

In 2/05 SCC (32), if the C4 (YOU find a photo!!) is one of the "most stylish
cars on Earth," what would that make the '79-'83 AMC Spirit?

In 1/05 Esquire (30), if a '70s AMC (YOU find which one!!) shows up in a
piece about bidets, then a Genie garage-door opener is in the "Chrysler"
room Cheryl Gardner designed (46-47) for a home (YOU figure out whose!!) in
LA. (Then you'll know what to do with that AMC backseat you're still paying
to store, also...)

In 1/05 BMW Scene (YOU can't say, "What does this have to do with AMC?"
until you read further!!), Hein Gericke of Dusseldorf (and known for its
bike accessories] offers "100 Years of Sportcars" (ISBN 3-938818-00-8).
Ring any AMC List bells?

The newest 4-door Gremlin (of which the rest of the world now has very many)
AKA the E87 120i, with AC Schnitzer 19s (rubba-dub-dub in Vee-Dub Land)
wears its AMC-ness sportily, lest it be taken for a stylish Chevy Aveo or a
RWD Mazda3. (If you express your opinion about it, don't be rude; please
remember that some places require a license or operative permit to
"plus-size" both your wheels AND your W-O-R-D-S...)

In 1/05 Town & Country (the mag, not the minivan) and in 1/05 Wallpaper (the
mag, not the mural), there are AMC eruptions. YOU do the looking!!

In 5/05 (x5+3+4, if you do numbers), there'll be a chance for English- and
non-English-speaking AMC people to make their mark on their marque.

I'm polite enough to give you the URL.

http://www.messeoffenburg.de/

YOU point/click/search for "Veteranen" "Oldtimer" "US Cars."

Or you can just go to the movies. In the usual old AMC style.
