I can vouch for Joe Gray that he is a man of his word. If he says he
will be there that day, he will be. If not he will contact you.
Joe, What I believe you are seeing here is just one aspect of the hobby
that is now ''electronic'' but used to be by Snail Mail tru the clubs.
There have always been guys that want every single thing they hear
about. They are beating a path to your door right then. They hang you
out to dry and never do anything. Just like there are some bad [or
deceiving] Vendors out there, there are also bad, or deceiving Customers
as well.
There are also those you send money to but you never get your stuff. And
there are those that get parts that claim they never did. They end up
getting a free set of parts. Even some of those will call you and tell
you they finally got BOTH sets of parts. They will return the 2nd set
you sent because they were convinced the package was lost. They will ship
it back in about 3-4 months if you haggle with them long enough., Or..
they never ever send back to double order and just refuse any contact.
There are indeed communications problems with E-mails. I have seen much
too many issues come up with it. I, just as others have gone off the
deep end over ''no contact'' when dealing with e-mail.Just because you
send it does not mean it ever gets there. This addage goes for the buyer
or seller in either case. The sendor may never get a reply even though
the guy answered.
My own web site has had e-mail problems nearly two weeks. They are
suppossed to be fixed now. We were answering e-mail but it was not being
sent out. We were recieving e-mail just fine.Cound not reply, but we
were unaware of the problem for a week, then it took a week for the Web
Host to resolve. This is just one site, one host. In the great big world
of the Web, therre are potential pitfalls totally relying on e-mail.
Other e-mail problems also have come up over the years. I know more than
once I have had returned mail ''everytime'' to a perfectly good web
address. Joe Gray & I had e-mail problems, but comunications got resolved.
All I am gettiing at isthat I do understand your ''perplexing''
situation. In most every case, no let me restate that, In EVERY case
when you are dealing with someone on the level, comunications will be
established that are reliable and dependable, and when you are dealing
with ''flakes'' then you are just at their mercy.
joe, I will tell a friend about the 67, Clone SC, he is doing two SC
right now and spoke of maybe looking at doing a clone for a driver.
Don't know if it will work out but I will contact him.
Regards,
Randy Guynn
