Re: How big a tire will fit under a 74 Javelin

Al

Since it appears that 14's are going extinct- I put some 15 inch Keystones on my 73 Jav.

I put 235/60/15s on them and they look and handle awesome.
They are, however, a tiny bit too big and were dragging slightly on the back (cowl) side of the fender. Before I repainted, I trimmed a little off the fender where it rolls under and it solved the problem.

Subject: How big a tire will fit under a 74 Javelin

I am thinking about putting some bigger biters under my 74 Javelin, I currently have the stock 14" 8 slots on the front and will probably stay with the 14's and just change the rims...Cragers...but on the rear I want to put the most (widest) rubber I can.I have air shocks on the car but only to give it a level stance I do not want a jacked up car with 34 feet of tire hangin out. Want have you guys on the list done as far as a nice set of Crager SS's and big meats on the back? Any help would be appreciated.
