I have certainly seen Maroon real Spirit AMXs. Have seen very dark blue
as well. Most seemed to be Black. I think the Maroon ones were fewer in
number. The dark blue ones I originally thought of as a repaint until I
saw the 2nd one painted that color. You know, many ''used'' car lots
repaint everthing they carry because they bought it wrecked and fixed it.
Had a 1977 Hornet AMX with White interior. The book[dealer brochure]
claims the AMX had only Tan, or Black interior available. And all the
Hornet AMXs I have seen have Tan or Black. Anyone else ever see White
interior in a 77?? This 77 was White with white interior.
Not an expert on these late AMXs but I know what I have owned and I know
what I have seen. Flaire come off, they aree installed with double
stick tape in most places. some may use the holes in the lip of the
fender were the chrome stips are.
all the Hornet, Concorde, and Spirit Flares are different. You might be
able to swap whole assemblies from one to another, but just swaping one
piece will not work. SX/$ flares will fit on the spirit as well but it
is not really AMC part.
since for the most part the Spirit AMC was a stripe package, why would
anyone really want to fake one?? It is not like it is going to have some
grand performance over a regular Spirit just because it carries AMC
package. My 77 was just a plain old 6 cylinder Hornet with painted
bumpers and stripes. Nothing more.
