.......hh7x@xxxxxxxxxxx From: Date sent: Tue, 28 Dec 2004 06:19:57 -0600 As I age , I'm finding my AMC Tastes are developing nicely , discovering more of those 'Hidden' styling Coups that Richard Teague inflicted upon an unsuspecting Automotive Community so long ago ......... Recently, I ran across a .jpg taken by John Rosa of a primer Black '70 Gremlin @ a race track some 4 years ago - sporting what has to be one of the MOST outrageous interiors produced by ANY car manufacturer : The 1979 Concord DL 'Michelin Man' Interior in what appears to be 'Pumpkin Orange' :) You'll find this interior on Arcticboys site under Eagle / Concord etc. page Two - a scan of the Factory Brochure showing these 'Tombstone' shaped seats sporting no less than 30 pleated rolls per seat ! Arcticboy Obviously knew that this interior was 'Whak' - as it is the only one really 'Featured' there - nice goin' AB:) How many years did AMC offer this 'Style' upholstery ? I recently ran across a Totally Wired Example locally in a junkyard - an 'LSD Zonker Yellow' Concord coupe with that 'Disco''' Padded half roof & 'Opera' side quarter windows.....and a 'Z'Yellow interior..... !Yeeow........ last registrant was someone named U. Fester @ 1313 Mockingbird Lane.....? I sat in the drivers seat the better part of twenty minutes just to grasp the statement this Fine Automobile made - ........ as it is Truly a 'Can you Imagine' color scheme. Not ONE of the current Manufacturers would Dare send a car out looking like this ! Cadillacs last 'Yellow / Yellow' "SupahFly" Coupe was offered in 1976 - just about the time "Shaft" started working Evening Security at Newark Hospital...... This is the 'Alaska' Special - with 24hrs of Day Quality 'Sunlight' available......... just add illumination. Sadly, the drivers door was left adjar & the weather washed out the drivers door panel & drivers seat. Car has under 80k on it - bet the Torqueflite cooked. Just to have an example - I'll be yanking the interior this spring so as to worship while in the parts shed. Probably remove the upholstery from the seats for patterns if needed........(yes I DO have a sewing machine..... with LOTS of atTAchments....:) I like my current stock interior - with the high back 'Gremlin-esq' pointy seats - but the design is not replresentative of Richard Ts "Inner Sanctum of Psychadelia"..... ........ 'Richard....... you Total Freak....'........ so plan 'B' has me finding the '87 - '88 EAGLE LTD seats - which use the same framework as the 'Michelin Man' seats..... and finding as *Minty Fresh* as possible - a '79 Concord Coupe Interior.
