Well, due to a set of circumstantial circumstances, I MAY actually get my parody song of Lee Greenwood's " God Bless the USA " ( written as " I Drive an AMC " ) finally recorded, sung, and possibly "published"! I met a guy thru an Internet Yahoo Group called Freecycle, which promotes recycling personal items rather than throwing them away by giving them away thru this Internet group as individuals. Anyway, he's into Christian music, and I met him thru Freecycle by giving away an electronic kids drum set. He's building his own private studio, and said he'd be happy to record and sing it when he's done. He was a background player with some band awhile back, Savage Garden?, but has since Heard The Word, and does only Christian music now. On yet another circumstantial note, a new co-worker is heavily into music, and when I mentioned my song-writing ability ( well, my PERCEIVED ability, LOL! ), and my desire to maybe get this song out to other people, he said you could buy the rights to produce a limited run of CD's or other mediums by contacting the Harry Fox Agency in New York, for 5 to 7 cents per copy ( under 2,500, minimum 500 ), you can pay for and receive legal permission to release your own version of different songs. About $70 for the license. So, 7 years since I first (re)wrote this song, it may actually be possible to finally get it on a CD and sell it to fellow AMC lovers ( assuming anyone wants to hear it, LOL! ). I still have 3 other songs , all unique and not parodied, to try to get music to, I am a lyric writer, NOT a musician. Doubt I'll wait to get it all on one, that might take ANOTHER 7 years. But at least one song could make it a hard-copy medium before 2005 is out. One can hope ( as I have been ). Well, just thought I'd pass the news along, as I'm sure you've all tired of waiting for it to be released. LOL. Same time as it takes me to get an AMC running again. Ouch. Anyway, everyone have a great holiday season, and a safe one. AMC ya! Jerry Casper budding songologist __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Dress up your holiday email, Hollywood style.
