Re:Simca! & Speaking of Manuals

I am not sure what was the last year Simca was available. They were sold at the Local Chrysler dearers in Texas. I recall seeing only one at a dealer in late 67 when my sister bought her 68 Cuda. My folks drove Chrysler so I was at dealers a lot in my youth. Seems Chrysler had sales stuff on them, but very few were ever seen around here.

One more Oddity of the auto, the Amphicar was sold thru the local Rambler dealer here. Willingham Rambler in Pasadena Texas stocked them.

I am sure there are plenty more odd ball cars out there . TVRs, Sunbeam. Those are two that are a little strange in this area. I have never seen a Sunbeam dealer but I have seen plenty of the cars, both Alpine, & Tiger. But there was a TVR dealer on our side of town, Sold Triumph, and Jags too. Import only. Anyway, there was a locar dealer, but then, nor now have I ever seen a TVR in the area.

I checked a set of auto books I have but not a thing on Simca at all. This set touches on some seldom heard of cars, I was supprised that Simca was missing.

I to shop all the used book stores I find. I pick up all sorts of stuff. Sometimes for myself, sometimes it is just AMC stuff I don't want to see tossed out. Sooner or later the stores clean house and a lot goes to trash.

I have 3 manuals I would like to get to someone that is in need of them. One is an original TORNADO 230 Engine overhaul book. This is a Factory issue piece in very good shape. The next two are Factory AMC/JEEP Component service manuals. These are very detailed issues on overhaul and repair. One is for the Injection/TBI on TBI on Wagoneer/Cherokee, Commanche/Wrangler, and also the Renault Alliance, Encore, & GTA. The last of the Factory manuals is for the Borg Warner T4/5 Transmissions. These factory books are in very good condition and they are both in heavy Factory clear vinyl covers.

If anyone has intrest in one of these manuals, please contact me off the list.

Regards,

Randy Guynn
