This is the info I just got from Lakewood on the new AMC scattershields.
They are available, they are only being made in small runs. You will
need to order the piece and then wait for about 8 weeks for the run to
be made.

I was told they do not have any at all in stock and that they did not
know when they could build a stock level. I was told, ''If you want one,
place an order and wait.'' I was also told'' We have already made and
shipped some out.'' And one more thing I was told, ''We did have some
problems associated with heat treat.''

So guys & gals, it looks likr the new Shoert Scattershield is now
available, just go to the dealer of you choice and place your order.
This new piece will allow a lot of different transmissions to be put
behind many AMC engines. Anything from Road cars, to Race cars to Jeeps
can now swap in different trannys, and reap the rewards of different
gear ratios not available in AMC/Jeep only applications. Overdrive for
the masses is now within easier reach. Yes, much could be swapped
before, but you were giving up the safety of your lower limbs. A
Scattersheid will give peace of mind and keep all your parts intact.

This should answer the ''when is the Lakewoos shield coming//''
questions. It is coming about 8 weeks after you place your order for it.

Regards,

Randy Guynn
