Re: timing chain

Well, I have decided that the "rattling" I hear when i start down the road with a cold engine is probably the timing chain hitting the cover. It seems to diminish when the engine is warmed up. I can stop/slow down the rattle when I let up on the gas. I'm not pushing the car hard either. I'll bet the synchronous vibration I get at about 35 mph is the chain too. It's flopping around and setting up a vibration. We'll see before long. I should have my new chain & gear by Friday and then get busy with it next week.

Now, because the engine will run better with the slop gone from the chain
and it is easy to do on the six cylinder.
