I have had my orange Hornet for a year now also. I new it needed front end work. What would you expext from a 30 year old car. It wasent worth the effort to look to see what was good or bad and I just bit the bullet and replaced everything but the springs. On the rear the springs were sagging and someone tried to add shackles to them to raise the car up. I installed a new set of ESPO springs with new shackles and urathane bushings and new gas shocks. It needed a brake job so everything got replaced, calipers, rotors, drums, wheel cyl's, hardware, brake hoses and even the master cyl. It cost me a good buck for all of this but it is worth it to me for the peace of mind that I have a dependable daily driver.
