Well, as of Wed of this week, the long wait for the forged rods is finally over. There are a few differences in design from what I originally posted back in the spring. They were originally going to be forged I-beam rods for pressed pins. Scat informed us a couple months back that H-beam cores had been made not I-beam. Ok, better yet but a little more than needed for the 360 and under engines. Now they were going to be H-beam with polished beams and 7/16 ARP bolts still for pressed pins. We wanted 10 of the sets to be machined and bushed for floating pins to save guys who wanted them bushed a bunch of money having their machine shop do it. In our last conversation with them to confirm what they were going to do before finishing, they said bushing 10 sets may take them longer so they were told to forget bushing any of them. Well, the rep in charge of this project went ahead a told his finishing guy to do them anyhow only the guy doesn't understand English all that well and he finished all of them for floating pins. So we now have a forged polished H-beam rod with 7/16ths ARP rod bolts that are machined and bushed for full floaters. This means a very high quality, high buck rod for the price of an off the shelf weaker rod. You can also get forged 360 pistons already set up for floating pins to go along with the rods. So lets start building some turbos, strokers and nitrous motors and see how much abuse the smaller AMC V-8 blocks will handle. Since yesterday, more than 10 sets have been sold. Nick Alfano Nick, how much will these rods be?this is awesome news especially for those of us that can't find or aford the holy grail of AMC V8's the 390-401 lol Bart M. 73 Gremlin 360/T10 has forged 11 to 1 flattops,Hmm some forged rods would accent them nicely >:)
