Information on the Ambassador 880, 990, and DPL features is available on the on-line 1967 AMC Data Book:
http://faculty.concord.edu/chrisz/hobby/67-DataBook/DataBook.html
The DPL hardtop and convertible (as well as Marlin) did NOT come with rectangular infill bumper lights. They were also not an "option" or a dealer installed "kit". Only the 880 and 990 4-door, sport sedan, and station wagon (Cross Country) models had those because they did not have the "rally" grille-mounted lights.
BTW - the parking lights went off if the headlamps were on.
