Well, the cable comes from the firewall, under the accelerator linkage., so im not sure what its exactly for.

Also.. i have a red light on the dash that blinks and doesnt blink.. i cant figure out what the heck its for! I dont think its 'standard'

If the cable looks like it goes down to the transmission, by all means don't drive the car without it connected!! I believe all the early Borg Warner automatics used a vacuum modulator, but mid 60s six cylinder BW auto trannys used a throttle valve cable like the GM 700R4. Without the cable connected the trans won't produce adequate pressure for driving at speed and the trans will fry the bands and drums! Sounds like you're right, it's a choke cable, but make sure!!

Hey Brian,

Take a look at
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/jmlivingston/P01082.jpg, is that the
cable assembly you're referring to? I just reconnected mine, haven't tried
starting the engine (327 v8, 4b carb) yet though. I also haven't traced
this back to see where the other end of this cable goes yet...
