Subject: : State of the Art Inline Six

My 'Guess' is that BMW tunes for peak numbers
& in the current format - the LL8 is set up for
'Truck Torque' numbers - .

I like the LL8 'Crank Bearing Ladder' that boxes
in all the crank bearings - doing it well enough
that GM can run Twin Turbos on 8.5 pistons
& pull 400HP with the same camshaft etc .
and feel confident enough to look toward
mass production at these output figures.

Lots of Potential in a lite car -

I'm not sure how the GM 4200 counts as
anything special... The BMW 3.8 Litre
Inline Six cranks 340 pony's in US spec
and close to 380 in Euro trim......

Of course BMW haven't managed to cure
their warping/cracking head design even
given the 30 odd years they've been
working on it!

As allway's YMMV!
