Joe, You should have bought the 8 3/4 posi with the 4.10 gears from Pat at the Cordova show. He sold it at a very reasonable price. There is a 2" difference between the 68-70 AMX rear end and a 71-74. Not sure what the overall length is but the backing plate to backing plate measurement is a fraction off 52" on the early style and 54 on the later style. I have a Dana 60 in my 71 that is closer to the size of the earlier AMX and it fits nicely. A set of 28.5 X 10.5 X 15 tires fit with plenty of room to spare. So, it shouldn't matter which one you use unless you are going to stick with stock sized wheels and tires. If that is the case, then the early style rear end is going to look funny as the tires will sit in too far. Need a 3:54-3:73 ratio. Would use a Mopar 8 3/4 if someone had a good one.Missed one i had found. WOULD LIKE to have dimensions to compare. How much different in length from 68-70 and 71-74? I'm GUESSING that the 71-74 is somewhere around 60-61" total(axle flange wheel to wheel mounting ) om other side. NOT including wheel studs? THANKS for any help. Joe Also please respond direct if possible. THANKYOU _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Declare Yourself - Register online to vote today! http://vote.yahoo.com
