I did some similar mods to my 77 AMX which include a 70 AMX hood scoop. Javelin roof spoiler, 79 AMX modified rear spoiler, and a custom grill that looks similar to the 71-74 AMX version. It also has LED marker lights and led bulbs in the rear.

I'd even leave the AMX instrument panel out -- though it would be the only thing I'd seriously consider changing in the car. Wheels are a non-issue to me -- just hang onto the stock ones. That's one pretty car! The only thing that detracts at all from the looks is the chrome trim bar that once trimmed the edge of the vinyl roof. If it ever gets painted I hope you remove that! If you must modify it, a duck-tail spoiler from a late mode AMX would be fitting, but I wouldn't go with the full ground effects kit.
