Try s simple tune-up first. The BW trans has bands that can be adjusted without taking the tranny out. I'd have the trans guy adjust the bands and change the fluid and filter. Since you have to pull the pan to change the filter, he can check the tubes as well. My guess is the bands have got a little loose from expansion and wear. Most work well after a band adjustment.

One more thing -- some BW trannys have a fine mesh screen instead of a replaceable filter.
