Do you have a TSM (factory shop manual) for your car? If so, it will 
have the specs for the rear axle in it. While it's out, it would be a 
good idea to replace the grease seals and maybe the wheel bearings. One 
thing that's really important on them is to make sure the nut that holds 
the hub to the axle is properly torqued. I think the spec is 250 ft/lbs 
(check your TSM). Too loose, and you'll spin the axle in the hub, too 
tight and you can snap the axle.
