That's basically the set-up you want for truck arms. I wouldn't use 
actual Chevy truck arms, too heavy! Those guys use a pair of thin 
channels back to back, but I've seen them made from rectangular and 
round tubing. I plan on making a set using 2" thin-wall (16-14 gauge) 
tubing -- 11 gauge (roughly 1/8") is a bit too thick. The tubes need to 
twist/flex some. The longer the better! I plan on making up a kit, but 
that is still a ways off. Maybe next fall/winter's project -- got to 
build a truck this winter/spring!! I am getting a 65 Ambassador hardtop 
soon. Interior is rotted, but I plan on making a Queen City Rambler 
NASCAR replica

Go to the HRTH main page. The S-10 crossmember looks like it would work 
well, but the G-body crossmember would be easy to modify for the 63-66 
Rambler also. Go to their catalog and all you really need are the 
crossmember ($250), arms ($220 each = $440), axle saddles ($54/pair), 
and maybe U-bolts ($48/pair). Use the Rambler panhard rod, shock mounts, 
and springs/saddles. So buying form them is just under $800 plus 
shipping. Their kits are $1995 but include springs, shocks, and screw 
jacks for adjusting the springs. Not bad for all you get.

I know we wandered around on this subject a few years ago. I have 
decided that the Ambassador is getting a set.
I've done some reading and searching and all I find seems to have 
remained the same info over the last few years.
Has anybody here actually done these on anything? An AMC Torquetube car 
experience would be sweet for info. I doubt I will find that.
