Actually this isn't true...
Almost all distributor-less ignition systems (used on most new cars)
have two plugs connected to each coil. The cylinder on the compression
stroke will have a lower resistance, and will get most of the spark,
while the
cylinder at the top of the exhaust stroke will get a weak spark.
