My cooling system is in great shape, the juice is crystal clear, but 
basically factory stock 1963. I had a 180 degree thermostat in it, two 
row radiator, stainless steel "RV" flex fan, no shroud. But this motor's 
been very temperature ping sensitive, and I use it in hot weather under 
load.
So I figured I'd simply optimize what I have. I know those "high flow" 
jobs are oriented to huge V8's but I can't see how increased flow when 
the thermostat is open can be a bad thing. If it's wide open, it's hot! 
The pump is stock, so it can only lower pumping losses.
I've always run 50/50 antifreeze, but in the last 10 years I've only 
encountered below-32 temps once or twice. Coldest was 9F in Flagstaff 
some years ago. I'm gonna run as little antifreeze as possible to get me

I haven't paid attention to this stuff in years, I always just went 50 
50 and didn't think more. Boiling point doesn't raise as much as it 
lowers freezing point, so for me, 50/50 is not such a good idea.
I could probably even get away with pure distilled water and that wetter 
stuff and maybe anticorrosion, and add some antifreeze if I do a winter 
trip.
And I'm gonna put on a Flex-O-Lite nylon fan (I like the one I put on 
the AMerican) and find or make a shroud, and a 195 degree high-flow. 
It's all easy enough and fits in Rambler Mentality and will all help 
temperature stability.
